For hundreds of years the heart of the Marine Corps has been pumping with the strength and stamina provided by every Marine since the first one slammed his tankard down on the table in Tun Tavern and asked where he should make his mark. By stepping forward and grasping the standard of liberty, each Marine is keeping the march of freedom alive, not only in the United States, but wherever the presence of the Marine Corps is felt, be it in plain sight, such as a U.S. Embassy, or a field covered in high grass that hides a highly trained platoon of combatants determined to succeed in their mission.
Go forth Marine and carry the banner high. Put one step in front of the other as you move forward each and every day. Should you stumble or fall, remember that you are not alone. All around you are your brother and sister Marines ready to lend their support or continue in your stance if necessary. As a unit, each and every Marine for the last 235 years is lending their support as you progress on this March of Freedom.
